Don't ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and go do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.  - Howard Thurman

What is coaching?

Coaching creates space for you to clarify what you want, uncover what's blocking you, and take meaningful action.

We start by defining your focus, whether its a career transition, leadership challenge, or a deeper sense that something needs to shift. Each session centers on what's most pressing within that focus. I ask questions that help you see things from new angles and challenge the assumptions that keep you stuck.

The goal is clarity and confidence to pursue what matters most to you.

Who I work with:

I partner with corporate leaders, entrepreneurs, educators, and creatives who feel a gap between how things look on the outside and how they feel on the inside.

You might be navigating a new role, building a business, finishing one career chapter and starting another, or expanding your identity as you become a parent. What my clients have in common isn't their job title or industry, it's that they're accomplished, thoughtful, and ready to do the deeper work of clarifying what they want and taking action on it.

How we'll work together:

We'll meet regularly (weekly or biweekly) for focused, 50-minute sessions over Zoom. Local clients in Western Massachusetts have the option to meet in person at my office in Northampton.

What you're signing up for:

  • Honest conversations that get to what's actually going on beneath the surface

  • Questions that help you challenge assumptions and see new possibilities

  • Clarity on your goals and obstacles

  • Accountability and support to follow through

  • A partnership grounded in your agenda, not mine

What I bring: â€‹â€‹

  • Real world leadership: I've led teams across corporate and nonprofit environments, and I currently serve as Board President of a language school.

  • Life experience: I have three children, and have lived and worked abroad. I understand firsthand the mix of ambition, responsibility, and self-doubt that often shows up in moments of transition.

  • Professional training:  I am trained through the Co-Active Training Institute (CTI), which emphasizes authenticity, partnership, and accountability in coaching.

  • A grounded approach: I help you go deep, stay honest, and move towards action, always anchored in your values.

LEADERSHIP + CAREER COACHING

  • Stepping into leadership roles or navigating transitions with confidence

  • Leading effective teams and meetings, setting meaningful KPIs

  • Defining success and setting goals that align with your career aspirations

  • Building or growing a values-aligned business

  • Setting boundaries and making decisions that support long term sustainability

  • Communicating your vision and managing difficult relationships

LIFE COACHING

  • Getting clear on what really lights you up

  • Finding direction when one chapter ends and the next isn't clear

  • Making decisions rooted in your values rather than external expectations

  • Navigating identity shifts (after leaving a role, becoming a parent, redefining success)

  • Balancing creative or entrepreneurial ambitions with financial realities and responsibilities

  • Moving from thinking about change to taking action

I came to Sonya during a chaotic time in my job search, and she was exactly the mirror I needed. She helped me recognize the gap between how I saw myself and my true potential, rebuilding my confidence in the process. With her guidance, I landed more interviews and approached them with greater self-assurance and clarity. Sonya has a remarkable ability to read between the lines and pinpoint where you should focus to become a strong, distinctive leader.
